Temescal Transition to California Natives
Homeowners purchased this property and the existing landscaping was overgrown and not properly maintained. Looking for a low-maintenance and low-water garden, we decided to focus on California native plants with a few specialty additions of herbs and lavenders to replace ones that had died. Working in a tight timeframe, the installation team hired by the homeowners did a fantastic job and we are excited to see it grow in!
Projects start with measuring the area that will have new landscaping. Then a scaled base map is made. After I create a basic plant layout and we can see what size plants will fit in the space, then the fun part happens of choosing plants and consulting with the client to refine the planting plan.

"We recently worked with Jean to refresh our front and back yard, installing native plants mulching, and upgrading our irrigation . She was extremely flexible and communicative, and worked to keep the project within our budget. Despite a few unexpected surprises during installation, Jean responded nimbly to offer solutions and keep the project on track. We were very happy with the completed project."
